The area of White Pocket on the Paria Plateau in Northern Arizona is very impressive indeed! While many are lured and wait their turn to visit the much more popular "Wave" in the North Coyote Buttes just west of here, the White Pocket area is seldom visited. Maybe because of its remoteness and the need for high-clearance 4WD vehicle to access the area. The impressive White Pocket will fill the senses beyond imagination. The drive to the swirling, twisted, multicolored natural artwork is an adventure in its own right, and the exploration by foot is endless. One after another great photo opportunities presents itself while hiking through this magnificent area. Best experienced during early morning and late afternoon light, come early and stay late as the light becomes too harsh in the middle of the day. Tread lightly and leave no trace, as White Pocket will surely become as popular as "The Wave" in the not too far off future, leading to restrictions on access or even the implementation of a permit system.
